Introduction
We have book reviews
by The Beadwrangler and guest
reviewers. They have all "been there, done that" so you can count on
quality reviews that give you an honest assessment of each book. We don't use
the press releases by the author or the publisher that are being passed off recently by
magazines as "book reviews." Each reviewer focuses on whether the book
provides you with the information that you expect and that you are paying for.
And speaking of paying, we have been searching for
several months for book sources for you. A big percentage of our email asks
"Where can I find that book?" Well, we have found an excellent
source. Many of the online "book stores" concentrate on popular books and
offer very little for us bead and fiber people. I was pleasantly surprised to find
that when I conducted a search for 200 books in all of the categories listed above, one
source, Amazon. COM, had nearly every one of them. And not only that. They
offered a discount price on about 75% of the titles. They even offer to conduct a
search for you for out-of-print books with no obligation to buy on your part. I am
testing them on this service and I'll let you know how it turns out.
Anyway we have established a special arrangement
with Amazon. COM which will allow you to move directly from our page to theirs on any book
that they include in their extensive catalog. When you see a
next to a book title, you
can click on it to go directly to the Amazon. COM page that features that book. When
you are finished at Amazon. COM, click on the little down arrow next to "Back" on
your browser; select any page with Pages in the
title to get back to Beadwrangler's.
If you see a
next to the Amazon link,
it means that the last time we checked, Amazon. COM was offering a discount on this book.
We will also try to keep our titles up to date as to the "out-of-print" status.
We also review books that are not carried by
Amazon. COM or any of the other major book sources. In these cases,
I will provide a way
for you to contact the author or publisher within the book review.
So now when you read a book review at
Beadwrangler's, you don't have to search all over town to find it. You can order it
right here and many times purchase the book at a discount off of the cover price.
Oh, and one final important note. Pages replaces our old Book Review page. But
Grunt and Max will still be around helping me out. You'll find then on the other
side of this column in the What's New at Pages column.
For a little background about Grunt, click here.
So now you know all about Beadwrangler's Pages Book Center. On your future visits, just check out
the What's New column.
