Glass Making Organizations
| Society of Glass Beadmakers | Purpose, membership, events, links and more |
| International Guild of Glass Artists, Inc. | The International Guild of Glass Artists was formed by a group of glass artists and craftspeople in the U.S. and Canada in mid-1993. They formed the nonprofit corporation, elected a Board of Directors that meet online on a continuous basis and threw the doors open to everyone working with glass in any way, shape or form ... now the membership's doubling every year. Membership ($25-1000) includes a quarterly publication; a number of member services, including referrals to architects, homeowners and galleries; grants to local chapters of the Guild; and plans for a year-round glass school in the Northeast. |
| International Paperweight Society | A good site for collectors and paperweight enthusiasts. Has links to other collector's site |
| Great Britain's Crafts Council | The Crafts Council promotes the contemporary crafts in Great Britain. It is an independent organisation funded by government and provides services to craftspeople and the public. |
| GAS | The Glass Art Society publishes a newsletter 4 times a year, as well as a journal of our conference which appropriately comes out once a year. The newsletter and Journal come with a GAS membership. |
What I would really like is a fairly comprehensive list of glass making organizations in North America.
In the meantime, if you belong to a glass making organization, just drop me a line with the name, address, contact and meeting information. Just click here. lydia@beadwrangler.com
