There are 20 coordinating full size sets of quilting patterns.  Each pattern set has a border design, setting triangle and a block.  Moreover, these attractive designs are continuous-line (yippee!), and can be used for hand quilting, machine quilting or quilting on a long-arm machine.

Instructions for using the designs, resizing the patterns and marking the quilt top are provided.  A discussion of marking tools and of the no-marking method is very helpful.  Specific instructions for marking for the long-arm machine are included, as are instructions for preparing the backing.

The discussion on choosing batting includes a very useful comparison chart of the characteristic of the most readily available battings.  All phases of the quilting process are discussed and clearly illustrated, including basting, quilting by hand, and by machine and long-arm.

This is a very, very nice product.  The quilting patterns can be used over and over, and the book is a concise overview of basic quilting techniques.  There are designs to appeal to everyone, ranging from cute children and animal motifs, to lovely leaf and flower motifs to geometric designs. The continuous-line designs eliminate unnecessary starts and stops.  Clear instructions are included for corners and for lengthening and shortening.  Quilters, with products like this, we have no excuse for turning out anything but perfect quilted projects.
