Having been a Laurel
Burch fan for years, I was anxiously awaiting her Christmas book.
The book is packed with home decorator ideas, including wall
hangings, pillows to throw about and other projects to brighten up the
holidays. Her trademark use of color is carried out in every design. The
drawings and patterns (to be enlarged) in the printed section of the book
are supplemented by pull out patterns in the back of the book.
She hasn’t left anyone off the list of friends to make things for
including a Bandana for a special four legged fiend!
This book is not just
for sewers and quilters. Several of the projects use glues and paints to
achieve. Those of us who sew can use decorative threads instead. There is
only one project that could have been omitted as far as I’m concerned. The
Treasure Box borders on tacky even for crafters.
I think this book will
satisfy both the sewers and the crafters. I guess that’s why the word Crafts
is in its subtitle! Overall, this is a
wonderful book for self emersion. The colors and bold designs “Will” keep
you going until way after the New Year!
