Inspirations Beaded Bags by Deb Bergs This is a wonderful, new collection of designs for amulet pouches by Deb Bergs. Many of us were entranced by her previous book of realistic nature themes, and selection of patterns that continue her tradition of quality designs with a mastery of color. Her unique designs enable the reader to use peyote or brick stitch to weave from left to right across the pattern, weaving two different designs for the front and back at the same time. Instead of attaching two halves together, you only need to zip up one side and begin embellishing and adding straps. The 16 designs allow the reader to choose between beautiful geometrics, a red hat lady, children, beauties, an angel, a cute little wren, or a gorgeous rose. You can mix and match fronts and backs of amulet bags, or finish the back with a solid color or fabric. The patterns are large, easy to read, and instructions are included for peyote and brick stitch, fringe and for joining seams. The colors given for Delica beads are named, as well as numbered, so that you can use another type of bead if desired. As for value, this small book has more beautiful patterns than many larger, more expensive books. I like it a lot and have plans for "Tuscany" and "Rosabelle" Remember. Review by Diana Norris |
