You will find many chain designs and techniques for creating dimensional necklaces and bracelets.  I made one of the Byzantine necklaces in the 1970’s and I still have it.  At that time it was called an Etruscan chain.  I also bead crocheted the same chain necklace with seed beads and thread, a 6 foot sculpture that has been displayed at exhibits in Chicago and at the Bead Museum in Washington DC.  From metal chains, you can use the same techniques with other media to make new art.

Scott has taken the basic chain components and made multiple jewelry pieces, each with a different appearance.  The step-by-step photographs and instructions of the chain pieces include numbers, indicating where each chain is placed, making it much easier to work the chains together.

There are 24 designs; instructions for making clasps; how to make the chains and combine them; adding beads into the designs; how to figure how much wire you need to make a length of chain; a fast method for wrapping the wire and all the information you need to make these exquisite designs.

The designs are just unbelievable - diamonds, zigzag, knot, half square, crown and ancient ethnic plus a lot more.  Once you learn the basics of making the chains and working them together, you can make any design in this book.

I highly recommend Scott’s book as a must have for those who love to work with wire, and those who would like to learn to make designs with chains.
