The
Art of Fabric Books, by Jan Bode Smiley Where do I begin? I absolutely loved this book! I have wanted to do some fabric journals and this book was so full of inspiration and information, that I went straight to the studio and started constructing books! The information is easy to understand and there are so many options explained to you, that it is hard to decide where to start. There are easy to follow instructions for edges, pockets in the pages and using your in jet printer to add the written word to your pages. If you are not a scrapbooker, you will appreciate the instructions on eyelets, uses for tissue paper and some other things as well. After you learn how to use the tools and supplies, you are ready to jump right into your first project with all kinds of confidence. There are several types of fabric book projects for you to choose from; folded fabrics, altered board books and sewn pages. With all the color pictures and step-by-step instructions, you’ll have your first book finished before you know it! The gallery is wonderful and will keep you dreaming up new subjects for hours. I know I’m gushing, but you will too when you get this book. If you are interested in fabric book making….Buy it, you’ll love it! Review by Teresa Barrett |
