Beauties to Crochet, Designs by Susan Lutz Kenyon This bead crochet book has 10 necklace and three bracelet projects in it. They are different designs, but they all use the same bead crochet stitch. The instructions and photos at the back of Beaded Beauties are good. The materials information page was thorough, however, it would have been more helpful to beginners if there had been an explanation of size E-beads compared to size 6/0 beads. Susan uses both terms in her directions. I would like to see some explanation of how the pattern works, rather than just the stringing sequence with no explanation of why the spiral happens. I was disappointed that all the projects are made with the bead slip stitch and other bead crochet stitches were not included. However, it is a nice book for beginners to conquer the basics and have something beautiful to wear for their efforts. Review by Teresa Barrett |
