Wrapped in Style
Designs by Denise Black,
Meredith Montross, Jean Leinhauser and Judy Olesch Wrapped in Style provides patterns for a poncho, two shawls and a cape for your crocheting pleasure. The most complex stitch is treble crochet and instructions are included for making this stitch. Wrapped in Style is listed as having 5 crochet designs; I counted four – Mesh Poncho, Fuzzy Shawl, Trellis Shawl and Hooded Cape. Perhaps the instructions to make tassels to wear with the cape are considered as the fifth project? The fuzzy shawl is made up with 895 yards of brushed bulky weight yarn, uses a J crochet hook and is a fast easy pattern that would make a great gift for female family members and friends. The hooded cape is soft and flows, down to the feet, with eyelash yarn as accent around the cape edge and hood. The pattern provides the height, 63” and the width across the bottom, 67” but not the width at the chest. It is a delectable pattern. The general instructions include the yarn weight symbols, names and categories. The experience level for all the patterns is beginner to very easy. A listing is provided with all the yarns used for the examples and where you can purchase them. There are color photos of each project. Review by Lydia F Borin |
